Description
This small book was given to Elizabeth Johnston by her husband. It contains both handwritten recipes and newspaper clippings of articles containing recipes and remedies for diseases such as cholera and diphtheria. The food recipes mostly focus sweets, particularly cakes and preserves, but there are also some savory recipes for soups and meat dishes.
