This account book was kept by Aaron Kimball, a cobbler of Ipswich, Massachusetts. In addition to records of making boots and shoes for the local population during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, it includes observations on work life, newspaper articles, poetry, and culinary and medical recipes.
