This recipe book, dated 1861 by the library, includes recipes for pastries, puddings, "sweet dishes," and preserves. There are also two sections titled "For the Sick" and "Useful Hints." There is an index at the rear of the volume. Sallie McCann and Sarah McCann are among those credited for recipes; an unidentified Davis appears to have been the owner or possibly the creator of the book.
