Description
This recipe book is among the papers of several New York State families from 1738 to 1925. The papers were collected by Leander Crawford Purdy and Louisa (Canfield) Purdy, who were descendants of these families. The library believes that the recipe book was probably compiled by Betsey Ketcham Little (1797-1863), wife of William S. Little (1773-1864 or 1792-1867), and the mother of six children. William Little's farm and store account book (1847-1857) is also part of the collection. The couple lived in Mount Hope, Orange County, New York. There may be at least one other recipe book in this collection, as the finding aid lists "recipe books."
