Description
The library's Samuel Lindsey Family Papers include two bound volumes containing culinary and medical recipes. The volumes, which have not been dated, are housed in Folder/envelope 8 of the papers.

Samuel Lindsey (1785-1866) and his wife, Nancy (1797-1876) were natives of Giles County, Virginia. They moved to Highland County, Ohio in 1836, settling in Concord Township. Samuel Lindsey was a farmer and minister. Children Susan, Whitney, James, Margaret, and Eleanor all died in childhood. Surviving children were Christopher (1821-1900), Eliza, Joseph R., George W. (1828-1910), and Catharine.
