This English recipe book is inscribed "Miss Stockley Nov. 20th, 1833" on the first leaf. It contains entries from 1833 to around 1880, principally in Miss Stockley's hand, although at least one other hand is also present. The book contains over ninety recipes, most of which are culinary, as well as unsigned original drawings (some of which are pasted in below recipes), printed illustrations, and other material. The culinary recipes include cakes, dessert jellies, aspics, marmalades, puddings, bread rolls, sauces, stews, vinegars, and wines. Most of the recipes are attributed, including to Miss Stockley and Mrs. Stockley.
