Description
This book was written by at least two different unknown authors, probably at Carlisle, England. It contains recipes for food and drink at the front. Medical, cosmetic, and household recipes are written from the back of the notebook toward the center. The book also includes some knitting instructions. Some recipes are dated between 1849 and 1892, and some are attributed. The book outlines culinary recipes for biscuits, cakes, creams and other desserts, savory and sweet gelatin jellies, jams, pickles, curried eggs and lentils, and a variety of different puddings. There are also recipes for cooling drinks, ginger beer, ginger wine, herbal teas, and lemonade.
