This book was coauthored by Eliza Ann (Spragins) Clark (1821-1897) around 1840, presumably in Halifax County, Virginia, and by an unknown individual. It is written in a 20-page sewn oblong notebook measuring 6 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches. It does not have a cover.
Culinary recipes for Sweet Potatoe Pudding and Yellow Pickle, both written in the same hand, appear on the first page of this book. The rest of the book is given over to lists of household furnishings, which are written in a second hand. Many pages of the book are blank.
