The Margaret Poillon Garretson Cookbook contains over sixty entries, mostly culinary recipes interspersed with a few cures. The book is not dated, but since Margaret was born in 1793, the book was likely composed in the early decades of the 19th century. The culinary recipes include gingerbread, ginger cake, crullers, doughnuts, wafers, Indian bread, mush cake, cup cake, preserved apples, preserved citron, cranberries drop cake, tomato catsup, plumb cake, and soda biscuit.
