This small hand-sewn book of approximately 25 recipes has the name Philip DuBois written on the inside front cover. The book particularly focuses on cakes and little cakes, including jumbles, cookies, wafers, sponge cake, pound cake, honey cake, composition cake, cream cake, gingerbread, and crullers. There are also some recipes for pickles. Most of the recipes provide only the ingredients needed and their amounts, with little instruction for mixing and cooking or baking.
